About the Instructor

Instructor Brittany McBeath

Brittany is a Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Ph.D. candidate who holds a doctoral scholarship award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She is pursuing research within the diverse field of Indigenous Health Promotion at Queen's University, situated on traditional Anishnaabe and Haudenosaunee territory. She is experienced in using a Community-Based Participatory Research approach and prioritizes the highest standard of ethical research practice in partnership with Indigenous communities. Her previous experience working with Right To Play Canada as a Community Mentor has shaped her passion for positive youth development, type 2 diabetes prevention, and revitalizing Indigenous language and culture.
